Sweater Scrap Yard
I love these mittens and have purchased several pairs, they are soft and very well made and sure to keep hands very warm this winter.
Melissa and Ashleigh Norman are a mother daughter team who create these beautiful mittens.

A description of their mittens ~
Upcycled, Recycled Wool Sweater Mittens
These warm mittens are made from a super soft forest green Merino wool sweater and are embellished with cute felted wool owls. These mittens are lined with a soft fleece lining (cozy & warm).
Many mitten makers use new fleece for the lining of their “recycled mittens”. The only thing that is “NEW” in our mittens is the thread. We recycle acrylic sweaters, fleece and cotton knit tops for the lining of our mittens. Sometimes we use buttons and, if so, they are either vintage or recycled from old clothing. Each design is unique – OOAK!! The "cuff" of each mitten is sewn down, not just flipped over and tacked with a button. Our prices are very reasonable. Our mittens are made in Michigan -- we know all about blustery and frigid winter weather -- we're called the "winter wonderland"!!
Most of our mittens are size medium to fit women and teen girls. We recommend machine washing in cool water on the gentle cycle and lay flat to dry.
Go Green and Stay warm for the winter!
Sweater Scrap Yard Mittens make an excellent gift for that hard to buy for person! We also do custom work. Have a favorite sweater you can't bear to part with? Send us your sweater and we will make you a set of custom mittens. Please email for further details.
